Bring the Festive Cheer in to the Office

The holidays are almost here. There'll be good food and drink to enjoy, cosy Christmas movies to watch and hopefully, you'll be able to switch off.

Even though work doesn’t stop until then, that doesn’t mean you can’t bring some festive cheer to the office!

Sprinkling your workplace with holiday spirit can boost morale, improve team connections, and make December far more enjoyable for everyone.

Simple ways to bring the festive cheer in to the office

Put some decorations up

Desk Decorations: Mini Christmas trees, twinkling lights, or themed stationery can bring some festive cheer to workspaces. It also helps to make them look prettier, too!

Common Areas: Hang garlands, wreaths, or snowflakes in shared spaces like break rooms or meeting rooms.

Team Building Activities

Secret Santa or Gift Exchanges: Create a fun way for your team to exchange small gifts or write anonymous “festive cheer” notes for each other. There's nothing more exciting than receiving a gift.

Holiday Trivia: Plan a lunch-hour trivia session with questions about holiday traditions, movies or songs.

Bring the festivities in to staff meetings

Now, unless it's a serious meeting, you can have a little bit of fun to make everyone laugh!

You could start meetings with a festive icebreaker, like “What’s your favorite Christmas memory?” or a fun festive joke.

How about using a fun Christmas Zoom filter on your virtual background?

Treat the team!

Sweet Treats: Set up a snack station with cookies, hot chocolate, or candy canes. You could also arrange a little festive breakfast and bring in some croissants and pastries to end the year in a delicious way.
